Greetings from St. Raphaël-Wallondri in rural northern Haiti!

Much has changed since I first came to Haiti in 1987. We did not have reliable communications, the roads were terrible, there was no electricity, and affordable personal computers were still in the future.

“The roads are still bad and it is unlikely that the national electric system will ever reach this area”. I wrote that in 2010 when I started this website.  Things have changed greatly since then!  Travel time has shortened with the improvement of roads through the central part of the country.  Cap Haitien now has three traffic lights, and they all work! (Which does not mean people pay attention, so defensive driving is a must.)  Electricity of Haiti (EDH) ran high tension power lines through this area in the spring of 2013.  I am told we have more reliable power than Cap Haitien, but solar power backup is still a good idea.

I remember an older missionary telling me how her arrival in a rural plateau town in the late 1930’s was announced by talking drums.  Now most people have cell phones, and many have access to the internet.  It would be almost impossible for me to function here without a laptop computer and internet connections.

While the country has changed greatly, the spiritual needs have not.  It has been my privilege to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in clinic ministry to the Haitian people since 1989. We have seen God heal people both physically, through the use of medicine, and spiritually as the Gospel has been faithfully proclaimed and people have put their trust in Christ for salvation.

Thank you for stopping by!  I hope you will be informed and encouraged as you browse through this site.

“And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.”  (Matthew 14:14)
